We visited the District 6 Museum,
a tribute to the people who lived in District 6, a part of Cape
Town that was systematically "cleansed" of blacks
(including those that owned land) during apartheid. This woman,
an original resident, is hand-sewing comments of other residents
into an ongoing quilt project. Today, arbitration still continues
in an effort to restore property to its rightful owners, but
the process has been slow and painful for many original District
6 residents.
