This is some sort of raptor (obviously), but unfortunately, we're not exactly sure what kind. If Thomas (our guide) told us, we forgot to write it down. If you know, please feel free to enlighten us. (update: see below!)

Hi.... Nice site with many nice pictures! The bird here is probably Lesser Spotted Eagle (immature phase), Aquilla pomarina.

I am excited from seeing your pics. My wife, Lise, and myself are spending 3 weeks in the same area in July this year with photography as the main goal. Could you get back to me with some info on what photo equipment you used and with general advises if possible, please? I would reccomend that you get a "Better Beamer" for bird photography, it really lights up shadow parts of the objects, which is really a problem in astrong light conditions.

Excellent - it's nice to finally know what this bird is! Thanks so much! Also, I think you're the first person to write us from Norway, so that's great, too.

In terms of our photo gear, check out this page: gear: technology.

Thanks again!
